Biography

Rafael F. Schaefer (S’08–M’12–SM’17) receivedÌýthe Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering andÌýcomputer science from the Technische UniversitätÌýBerlin, Germany, in 2007, and the Dr.-Ing. degreeÌýin electrical engineering from the Technische Universität München, Germany, in 2012. From 2007Ìýto 2010, he was a Research and Teaching AssistantÌýwith the Technische Universität Berlin andÌýfrom 2010 to 2013, with the Technische UniversitätÌýMünchen. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with Princeton University.ÌýSince 2015, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Technische UniversitätÌýBerlin. Among his publications is the recent book Information TheoreticÌýSecurity and Privacy of Information Systems (Cambridge University Press,Ìý2017). He was a recipient of the VDE Johann-Philipp-Reis Prize in 2013.ÌýHe received the best paper award of the German Information TechnologyÌýSociety in 2016. He was one of the exemplary reviewers of the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Ö±²¥ÌýCOMMUNICATION LETTERS in 2013. He is a Member of the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Ö±²¥ÌýInformation Forensics and Security Technical Committee. He is currently anÌýAssociate Editor of the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±Ö±²¥ TRANSACTIONS OF COMMUNICATIONS.
